Overview
MY Building is located right between Asakusa and Ueno, on a quiet street just a few steps from one of the best view street (Kappabashi Hon-dori) of the Tokyo Skytree. This street has been the shortest route between the two most popular temples in Edo, Asakusa Senso-ji and Ueno Kan’ei-ji since the Edo period and called “御成道” (Shogun’s road). This area has been a temple town. You can see a temple from the stairs of the building, and you can find this temple “燈明寺” on the old Edo map.
It is close to 6 stations: 7 min to Iriya Station (Hibiya Line), 8 min to Inaricho Station (Ginza Line), 8 min to Asakusa Station (Tsukuba Express), 10 min to Iriya Exit of Ueno Station (JR), 13 min Uguisudani Station (JR) and 14 min to Shin-Okachimachi Station (Toei Oedo Line). It is also close to 2 Toei Bus stops (5 min) and 2 Megurin Bus stops (1 min).
There are many local restaurants, convenience stores, supermarkets and temples around here. Famous Kappa dera is 1 min walk and famous Kappabashi Dougu (Utensils / Kitchenware) Street is 4 min from here. Still more, big shopping complex, Kimono rental, traditional shops, a large spa with Skytree view and other casual spas are all within 10 min walk.
There are many local events and traditional festivals too. Hatsumode in Jan, Setsubun in Feb, Cherry blossoms in March and April, many Matsuri in May and June, Tanabata and Fireworks in July, Summer Festival in Aug, many Aki-Matsuri in Sep and Oct, Torinoichi and Autumn leaves in Nov, Hagoita-ichi in Dec, and many others.
